Making Iron(II) Sulfate Heptahydrate

In this video I will show you how to make Iron(II) sulfate heptahydrate from elemental iron (Fe) and sulfuric acid (H2SO4). FeSO4 can be used in chemistry for making other iron salts such as iron oxalate for pyrophoric iron or also to grow beautiful green crystals.

Hey,

Do you have a video of making iron sulfate from iron scale? If you have please link it in the comment. Anyways, great video!

Where did you get your iron powder from

Hello sir I wanted to do experiment and put alcohol vinegar 9%, with iron nails and seal inside jar. Then it was formed like dark brown on top of the jar I think that's rust and on the bottom is formed like brown and muddy earth. The color of the vinegar is dark green.

Best would be for me to filter the vinegar and then evaporate the vinegar?

Hey, I want to ask you something.
I tried to make some ferrous acetate (iron II acetate), from steel wool and white vinegar, but after a few minutes, I smelled something really awful coming out of the jar.
I looked up and it seems like steel wool has some iron sulfide, and it generates hydrogen sulfide when it reacts with vinegar.
Really weird and scary, I left the jar on the window to make sure I don't build up H2S.

Can I eat that to treat mu iron deficiency? Also is it good for consumption if it oxidizes?

Are you still able to obtain 96% sulfuric acid, or did you buy this before the February regulation changes in the EU?

Also, there is a typo in the title, just to let you know.

Heard you could make so3 by decomposing this

But the problem is if how to dry iron sulfate without changing the color, because when i try to dry it exposed to the air. The color change from greenish, it turns to greenish brown, so so I'm not sure if it is ok use for gold precipitate

Is this ferrous sulfate solution will be oxidized by the air???, i don't want this solution to be ferric sulfate. Is there any method to protect the iron ii solution???

Are you sure those gloves can handle a spill of 96% H2SO4?

würdest du sagen das Experiment lohnt sich heutzutage überhaupt noch mit 15% Schwefelsäure?
