I sing these songs at faires, I have listened to them for years. I would never, EVER, have predicted they make a comeback. But, I guess in the times, the songs of isolation and survival and togetherness make sense. This is exactly what a shanty is. To hear the harmony of these people, to see strangers come together and sing a song and... man I just wanna cry it's so beautiful to me.

This is a clear example of the power of the human spirit.
Nothing can stop it.
Not even some crappy disease.

Favourite bits: all the basses, adorable baritone guy, the violin girl, black guy in the hoodie with the most incredible harmony, the obvious joy and delight this song brings to everyone.

What's so fascinating about this to me is the range of _history_ it brings. Melodies hundreds of years old brought through 19th-century techniques of symphonic harmony, and then into the 21st century with electronic rhythm, backing and dance. Just this epic sweep of a musical journey. 🤯

*The fact he brought this many people together to sing this gives me so much hope for me.*

*Imagine if they all come together to perform it live.*

I think it's safe to say that all those pop stars and mainstream musicians can pack their bags and go home, in 2021 a new way of making banging music has arisen.

LOVE Luke's "Hoh" after "When she dived down low". And MAJOR props to Nathan Evans for his brilliant original vid. His accent, expression, choice of B&W and drumming are the core of a movement. Soulful, serious, respectful of the original material. Many thanks to all collaborators for giving the world some joy. That all said, how do I get this damned song out of my head?!?

What makes this song so good? People that can actually sing. And sing in harmony-no auto-tune or lyrics just shouted.

One of those rare occasions when I actually like people. Couldn't we relate like this to each other instead of the shit we do all the time? What fantastic harmony, and not just the music! Utter joy!

This is the most brilliant thing I have seen on internet in the past year!

That gentle baritone was so good. Just the right amount to add that gentle thickness without overpowering the other singers. Beautiful

Red Flannel's voice has it's own gravity well.
