I would love to point out how many meter changes are necessary to transcribe Orthodox chant in western notation. This is why some chanters prefer pneumic notation to western notation. When I first started writing for voice in English I was worried that the text didn’t fit neatly into a 4/4 or 3/4 bar, and it wasn’t until I came across a quote by Ralph Van Williams who noted the same thing and said English required a lot of 5, 7, and 9 beat groupings . Well… that was a relief because my conclusions were correct!

Ironically, we don’t “feel” the odd meters as awkward but as a smooth delivery of sing English.

Amazing recoding and performance of this timeless hymn.

Of course there is score for this piece, but it is in neumatic notation. It can be found in any church bookstore in Greece. And also keep in mind that Divna Ljubojevic is educated in Byzantine music and what she sings here is not an approximation.

Yes, Divna is definitely a "miraculous, wondrous" singer, as her name supposes. As for sheet music, I doubt there are more or less available sheet scores for what she sings. Not that I am aware of, anyway. The score for this rather short melody I had to make myself "from ear".
