Mark interviews Forex Trader Peter. Tell us about your trading style? Talk with us about your process. What do you scan on the daily for? Do you monitor certain markets or you flip thru the daily charts and find something you like? How do you go about placing stops? OK.

123 Pattern and Stop Loss Placement

I look at daily and weekly charts and look for my setups; trying to find any opportunities. Pattern-wise I like head and shoulders as well as the 123 pattern. What about stops? I normally always use a stop loss order. If I get taken out of a trade then I know that the whole trade thesis has failed.

I'm struggling to understand how entering on a small time frame with a tight stop loss is good assuming you are trading the daily or weekly timeframe. Surely that just means you are much more likely to get stopped out of a trade?

Very good ...but it was better to use screen and draw on it his strategy in trading

Any specific eas ppl knw of using the 123 pattern? Has to deal with fractals. Any good ea programmers u would reccomend would be helpful.

The problem is: 1. too small SL, you lose money due to volatility, 2, too large SL, you lose a bundle and one loss can kill your account. Every time a SL is hit, the big banks make money, so it's a racket where the odds are against you. Solution: NO SL with small lot size and patience to wait for the market to come back. When the trade becomes positive, top up.

I'm trading on hope all the time. Doesn't work trust me. Starting to think I should trade in the exact opposite direction of what my mind is telling me to do.
