Machinations – “You Got Me Going Again” (Australia White Label) 1985

Having formed in Sydney in 1980, the Machinations released a single, “Average Inadequacy” and an EP for the independent Phantom label in 1981. The bigger Mushroom label signed the band in 1982 and their debut album, “Esteem” followed in April 1983. The album charted at #54 in Australia.

Two years later, the band issued a more successful album, “Big Music”, which reached # 20 and was released in the US by Epic. “You Got Me Going Again” was a track from that album, which reached #39 in Australia when released as a 45.

White Label Records was a subsidiary of Mushroom Records in Australia. White Label’s roster included Kids In The Kitchen, Hunters & Collectors and Big Pig.
