Live on scene in Sunol after ACE train gets stuck in mudslide

Passengers aboard an Altamont Corridor Express train traveling westbound near Sunol on Tuesday had to be evacuated after a 100-foot mudslide blocked the tracks. Jesse Gary reports live on scene

I am from CA also born and raised and although in recent years we haven’t had much rain, in the past we have had heavy rains!! It always used to flood back then!

You show some pictures of the Nile river that runs down to there I bet you that's just crazy I grew up in that area and I'm up in the mountains now and I've never seen this much water in California born and raised the Nile River must be running something crazy right now

The solution would be to have a mudslide detection system in place, like they do in parts of England. This would stop or slow down trains when one occurs for safety. The train could then proceed carefully and hopefully not get stuck in mud.

When roads and train tracks are designed, they're in the INTENTIONALLY laud out on the paths of least resistance.
That's why scenic route are locations of cliffs in the mountains and on coastlines and are so often so close to water. Water naturally follows that same path and much thought is put into the design of transportation routes ...

I'm surprised anything was allowed to run through that canyon. There are times when that canyon is not fit for man nor beast...or even ACE train.
