This is Mark Cavendish's custom Specialized S-Works Venge.

Mark Cavendish is riding a custom Specialized S-Works Venge. Rather than team colours, the Manx Missile has a stealth-black paint job.

Cavendish chooses full SRAM Red 22, with the only exception being the S-Works chainset. Cav rolls on Zipp wheels and holds onto Zipp handlebars too.

170 cranks! I, too, am a short sprinter. I'm not comparing myself to one of the best, but I've always preferred the feeling of longer cranks. I ride 175's on my road bike and have tried shorter ones and hated the feeling. To me it feels like a lack of torque and movement with short cranks. With every pedal rev I feel like I've left something on the table. That's so interesting to find out Cav rides 170's, thanks GCN!

The 49cm frame is an interesting choice. Specialized's own sizing guide recommends a 54cm frame for a rider of Cav's height (1.75m/5'9") and the 49cm frame for riders up to 1.65m (5'5").
I guess Cav has a style all of his own.

Cav runs Gore cables... but those have been discontinued for over a year now - plus, weren't they recalled for the cables separating from the cable ends?

many years later, can i assume 49cm + 3cm (stem extension to 120mm) + 2cm (and the venge seat post with 2cm setback) = 54cm?

Are these pro bikes commercially available? or are some components one-offs for the professionals, like the over-sized stem on this bike?

How much would something like this cost?

So, a 1.68m tall rider like me should ride a 48cm/46cm?? I've always argued with bike retailers/fitters about it...they tell me I should go for a 52cm like the one I'm ridin'...whats your take on this GCN, you'd help me a lot
