Senbazuru - 1000 paper cranes | Origami #shorts

Показать описание
Zuru" (鶴) is Japanese for crane. They are very special animals in Japan - it's believed that they live 1.000 years. That's why they are seen as a symbol for good luck and a long life 🍃
"Senbazuru" (千羽鶴) means 1.000 cranes and it is said, that whoever folds 1.000 paper cranes will be granted a wish by the gods. When 1.000 cranes are being folded, they are often gifts - mostly to loved ones, who need to recover from a serious illness.
But you can also find Senbazuru at war memorials. That is because the crane is a well known symbol for peace - especially since the story of little 2 year old Sadako Sasaki, who initially survived the horrible atomic bombing of Hiroshima, but developed Leukemia afterwards. She started to fold 1.000 cranes at the hospital and even though she died of the disease, her story still inspires many to donate Senbazuru to shrines or memorials as a prayer and wish for peace 🙏🏻🕊
