Wauw, really love this video. Great examples. As someone who is trying to make his own music, it helps a lot, with visualizing the final product while recording. It always sounds "bad" pre mix. Its actually good but just not yet mixed. This vid gives me more hope, it can be harsh te heard your unmixed version and trying to figurrue out if the take was good enough.

The trouble is, you send a mix without mix, a rough mix for the artist and then send the song properly mixed and then bingo, the artist prefers the rough mix.It happens quite often.

I feel that all the before and after examples are higly exagerated. Many of the tracks before mastering sounds extremely mono and the balance on some of the are just completely off(like on the third example, you can just barely hear the vocals….LOL). I really feel that whoever mastered this did more mixing (and fixing) than mastering, as the mixes are quite bad IMHO
