“My journey to the Catholic faith was not incidental or circumstantial but it is God’s desire and grace,” Ms. Kangha Keo. (Video)
Ms. Kagnha Keo is a converted Catholic, a media person, and a missionary at the National Catholic Social Communication Office in Cambodia since 2004 and at Radio Veritas Asia Khmer Language Service since 2011.
Kagnha was born into a Buddhist family with a younger brother and sister. Her father is a pharmacist and her mother is a general doctor.
Her first contact with the Catholic faith was during her studies at Don Bosco Vocational Training Center for girls in Phnom Penh. She did 2 months internship at Catholic Social Communications (CSC) for two months.
After the internship, she joined as a receptionist at the Catholic Communication Centre.
During the period every Sunday, she joined the catechism class at Saint Joseph’s Church, about 10 km from my home and decided to become a catholic.
Her mother resisted her baptism into the Catholic Church, but her father agreed and her maternal aunt supported her.
After a year of difficult circumstances, her parents understood and accepted her new religion.
“My journey to the Catholic faith was not incidental or circumstantial but it is God’s desire and grace,” she says.
Kagnha believes that God is calling her “to be a communicator of the Church, do the mission with love, with our unique gift and mission and persevere in it with prayer.”
Through her ministry of news reporting as a church communication staff, she wants to tell the world about the Church in Cambodia.
“God said to me move forward I am with you at all times this encouraged me in my mission," said Keo (Video)
“When I fail, kneel and pray again and God will give us the strength to move forward,” she said. (Video)
To be the communicator of the church, we cannot say that we are only the staff and then get the salary paid just like that, but the communicator is like a missionary. We have to go to work 24 hours a day. (Video)
Today, Kagnha Keo is a communicator of God, fulfilling her mission with love and dedication through Service.
