Gunk is such a hate sink character when you think about everything that unfolded here. ... I mean, where the hell is his integrity as a person!?!? He almost officially committed a murder here, when he busted out the axe to attempt to bust up wonderbot! Rodney prevented Gunk from doing something so stupid that would have otherwise led to him becoming imprisoned in jail and therefore ruining the business! But instead of thanking Rodney and giving him a promotion, Gunk fires him and insults him, and basically destroying any chance for there to be a new and improved system for the employees, including his struggling father! Then, he shows a clear lack of passion for sanitation, and makes Herb work extra hard for the sake of covering all the damages that he was responsible for in the first place! God dammit! I just hate it when you realize how ungrateful certain people are in certain movies!

“You, Clean up this mess. and, You, Get Out.

“Inventor.”

“You’re the hand-me-down son of a dishwasher, and that’s all you’ll ever be.”

“Somebody scrape this crud off of me.

And serve it to the customers.” 2:30

Mr. Gunk is a restaurant manager who works with Rodney's father, then unfortunately this went down the drain when he unexpectedly confronts them with his Wonderbot wrecking Mr. Gunk's kitchen, causing Herb to clean up a mess, and his son Rodney to go into debt and to be fired.

Fun Fact & Fun Spoiler.
Mr. Gunk died at the end of this movie as he is never seen dancing among the people of Rivet Town. His death was secretly the most subtle death among all of the deaths recorded in this movie. He suffered a lethal case of D.B.S.P.S., "Death By Sudden Permanent Sadness". The reason for Gunk's death was the will to live life slaying huge heartbreak caused by the immediate instantaneous shut down of his big beloved restaurant at the hands of Herb Copperbottom, the greatest robot in the world. Herb was more than just a dishwasher. Herb was a spirit slayer as a personal plug puller and business owner's wife killer as he therapeutically killed Gunk by turning Gunk into the saddest robot in the world that ever existed. The death of Gunk's wife was the price that Gunk had to pay for hurting Herb's wife. Therefore, Mr. Gunk lost his life.
