This was extremely helpful, I've been trying for a long time to get OBS to record a game without picking up my mic, but removing the source didn't do anything, if it had told me that I had to mute my mic in the mixer (or even that it was *in* the mixer) it would have saved me more time than I'd like to admit, so thank you for finally clearing that up.

I personally use a Mac laptop and when attempting to stream or record a games audio (through audio output capture) it shows that I have no devices able to record my audio output! I this something that only happens for macs?

Nice tutorial. My question is
I have plugged in my lapi mic in the laptop, was able to setup the audio output but every time I have to listen to the audio created i have to unplug the mic plug and attach the headphones. Besides a spitter is there a way where i can use the desktop audio as output tht way i can record and then hear it on my desktop speakers

Attempt 1, 044 on finding out what I am doing wrong (lol) I play on xbox. I have 2 different TVs. my computer is on INPUT 1 and my xbox is on INPUT 2. the left tv is on INPUT 1 with OBS running. It is streaming my other TV but the sound from the TV is not coming through to OBS only coming through my MIC. I use a Capture card and I have a AUX cord plugged into the Cap card to get the sound to the computer. So It is hooked up to line in on my computer. after doing all this I changed my Audio output to "Use Custom" and I selected Line in. Still no sound at all. Is there no fix? 5 months of me learning OBS very little and I have no idea where to go from here. Thank You for you help!
