As if anyone needed this confirmed, I met JCC backstage at his gig in Galashiels a few years back and he was even nicer of a man than you imagine him to be. A total gentleman. A living legend, glad he’s still appreciated and on these shows.

What a wonderful pairing of guests to have someone like him so descriptive and poetic with his words, and on the other side someone visually impaired, who most likely appreciated the viviv story telling.

If this had been Bob Mortimer, he would have given him a cushion to lie on and fed him 'monkey nourishment'.

Did not think anyone could beat Bob Mortimer's stories but this really did. I knew immediately it was true.

Jonny is a national treasure. He’s sharper than a razor and lyrically dwarfs those around him.

I love JCC. For 5 years, he picked up his weekly copy of The Spectator from me. Despite his twang, he resides in Essex now and is extremely well loved.

In the pub they met Bob Mortimer with his sick owl.

He did not need to say anything after "I shared a flat with a monkey" and we would know it was true.

What a story! And of course what a storyteller!

You could tell it was true when he quickly back-peddled to their first encounter. Truly recalling something, it doesn't always come back in sequential order, especially something that long ago.

"Monkey Wrench" - the sort of amazingly witty reply I usually come up with on the way home.

I thought it was only Bob Mortimer who told stories like this.

I'm not British, and I've only recently found this show and started to binge it. John is an instant favourite. I also like David and Bob.

I would like to listen for hours and days the life story of this man. What a brilliant narrator, and what an interesting life. ("He is exquisite")
