I’m a struggler. So are you. We are Christian believers, which is why we struggle. And the struggle we face is very real. I know you love God and want to serve Him. I know you have the best of intentions to be the very best person you can be. But you fail, don’t you? So do I. The sooner we admit it, the better off we’ll be and the closer we’ll get to the kind of success God intends for us. Oh, did I mention that Paul was a struggler, too?

This teaching is from our series Hashtag with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Albuquerque.

If Paul wrote Romans 7 showing a Christian's battle with sin, then the "law of the spirit of life in Christ" had NOT set him free from the "law of sin and death"!

So, you must think that the writer of Romans 7 did not know of the verse in Galatians. So you think had he known Galatians, then he would not have reached the end of himself screaming in agony, "Oh wretched man that I am!"

You must also think that when he said, "Who will deliver me from this body of death, " what he really should have said is, "What one last thing don't I know that I can do on my own if only I knew what that was and how to do it?"

So you must think all he needs to do now is to will to walk in the Spirit, and he'll be able to find how to perform it.

Is that what you think?

Have you ever had an addiction, whether to drugs, alcohol, smoking, over eating, eating or drinking something that's bad for you, pornography, depression, etc.?

Have you ever known what you need to do, but not been able to do it consistently despite all the bible studies, seminars, conventions, etc. you went to or taken?

So you must think that instead of Christ, the "who" that could save him, he just needed to know another law, a super easy law to follow such as "Walk in the Spirit."
