Your REAL talent as an artist

If you are an artist, you have a talent that has nothing to do with your art!
As a creative, it's easy to get caught up in describing yourself based on the medium you use most often. Like, I'm a photographer, I'm a painter, I'm a colored pencil portrait artist. Whatever it might be for you, it's really easy to get caught up in this identity - because maybe you're a great portrait artist with pencil, but you're just not that far along with your painting skills or something like that.

Or maybe you're an excellent sculptor, but drawing has never been your forte. However, your actual skill has nothing to do with whatever medium that you've mastered. Your actual gift is creativity. More specifically, being able to take information in, combine it in a new way, and create something new. It's so funny to me that sometimes artists struggle with finances or relationships or creating a balance in their own lives.

Because actually you are hard-wired to create beauty all around. You start looking at your life as a work of art because you make things beautiful. You take what you're given and you create something excellent, and that's your real power.
