A day in Mykines, Faroe Islands

Taking the boat to Mykines, Faroe Islands, is quite possibly the best way to spend a day in this part of the world. Mykines is the most westerly island of the Faroe Islands and also the most remote; a boat makes the journey there during the summer months only. A helicopter then braves it occasionally during the rest of the year. It has 10 permanent residents and thousands of seabirds. These are the highlights from my day there.

In July 2015 I spent a week photographing and filming in the Faroe Islands and it was one of the most amazing weeks I've had abroad. This is the first of several films I will be making about my time there, so watch this space...!
