Jason left the biggest band in the world, he wasn't fired or anything, he decided his own to leave the band of his dreams, for his own self-respect, really shows how REAL of a dude Jason was

Such a shame for Jason to leave. The man literally got screwed over and thrown around like a basketball. The man had a true stage persona about him, I have always respected jason newstead for me to pick up my first bass and having confidence to sing on stage. This performance makes me truly emotional.

Jason, keep your chin up mate! I love u brother!!

Jason's bass sounds awesome in this version. He probably cranked it and thought "f*ck you guys, I'm great at bass!"

5:16 A huge reason Lars' double bass sounds so ferocious is because of the way he and Jason lock in during that part. You can tell the band had really gelled at that point in their career. Too bad Jason left.

Odd as it sounds, this guy was the last real Metallica left - he was a hardcore fan, he loved Metallica as much as us fans where as the original members had lost themself already and ever since just been running it as a company - all soul that was left went with Jason, i have huge respect for him.

Kirk was the only one that knew this was Jason’s last performance. That hug between Jason and Kirk at the end of the song was not just a hug. 🤘 we love you Jason!!

Even though he's no longer an active member of the band, Jason will always be an integral part of Metallica.

For me, Jason represented the heart and soul of Metallica that was created in the very beginning. When Jason took over for Cliff, he came to the band as a representation of all fans at that time hugging the band, filling a spot, and being a part of metallica as a fun. Supporting and caring, and being part of this band we all loved. That position in the band continued throughout the years and the treatment of Jason was a metaphor for how Metallica largely treated their fans as well. Jasons departure was timely as many of us fans left the band when he did. We still gave attention, but it was never the same and hadnt been for a while. Much respect and love to Rob, he's a good dude and brought a lot to the band, but Jason was our membership and place in the band.

Without a doubt this was Fade To Black best performance.
Jason gave it all even in his last show, he had a huge stage pressence and amazing vocals.

Jason was always the life of the band on stage, and you can tell a part of him wants nothing to do with them anymore in this video.
