Is this one of the best budget(ish) phones of 2022? It's released on March 4 for a UK price of £349, or £299 on day one!

One of the highlights of this handset is that IMX766 Sony camera sensor, which can capture crisp, colourful everyday shots plus 4K video. Here's some early samples but I'll be testing out the optics fully ahead of my in-depth Realme 9 Pro Plus review.

Gamers may prefer the Redmi Note 11 Pro, as the likes of Genshin Impact struggles on this Dimensity platform. However, PubG and CoDM and other popular Android titles play with a perfect frame rate.

Battery life is solid too. The Realme 9 Pro Plus can go all day on a single charge thanks to the 4500mAh battery, energy efficient SoC etc. Media fans should also love the 6.4-inch AMOLED screen which boasts 90Hz support like the OnePlus Nord 2.

It's mental how Genshin Impact has become a more consistent and reliable performance measurement method than Geekbench 😂

Great phone, not sure about the chipset though. Needs a SD7 or 8 series

When it come to choosing a phone you either have to focus on camera sensor or cpu chip. Depend on whether you are a gamer or photographer. If you want both you have to pay over a grand for a phone. In this phone case it give you the best Sony camera sensor in this price range and its strength lie in it camera taking ability, camera modes and filter options. As for its chip well it's not the best but its not a slouch either. Antutu benchmark score place it at over the 400 thousand mark. For this kind of price and for what it is giving you it is a well rounded solid mid ranger already.

I wish to see this head to head with Redmi Note 11 Pro. Though in my opinion this year's mid range are a disappointment (for example the 9 Pro Plus lack the microsd) whereas the Note 11 Pro (misses on the processor and camera dept)

Realme's pricing is rather odd, with a 9 Pro (non +) being only £50 cheaper, all while losing both the AMOLED screen and Sony camera. I can't see it sticking at £299 for long.

i've been using the Realme X2 for about 2 years now, worked perfect all the time. The 9 plus will be my next phone. thanks for the perfect unbox video. i dont think there's another phone with this price that will be a better alternative

Xiaomi Note 11 pro has SD card, but no 4K, this one has 4K but no SD card... blimey when we''ll find an ideal phone!!!! 4k, dual speakers, Amoled, 3.5 Jack and SD card... :( not to mention the budget friendly price
