Nexus 6 Review: Too Big to Phone | Mashable

The Google Nexus 6 is gargantuan. Built by Lenovo-owned Motorola, the Nexus 6 ($649 unlocked from Google) has a 6-inch display, which is larger than most of the other biggie-size phones of today. The Galaxy Note 4 is 5.7 inches, and the iPhone 6 Plus is 5.5.

If this were an Apple product, you'd probably say that the size is amazing...

your review reads as 'i prefer other phones' instead of 'this is what i like about this phone'.

I'm sorry but everyone here HAS to know this.
SCREEN SIZE ≠ PHONE SIZE.
The iPhone 6 Plus and Nexus 6 are basically the same height.

If this is too big. Then the Iphone 6 plus and note 4 are too big as well because they are about the same size. I don't find it too big honestly.

I really don't see what the problem is here. It's not bigger than any bigger phablets really. Basically the whole video was about how he didn't like the screen size, and the rest was just that it was another phone. It looks pretty good to me, and in an Apple fan, so no bias there.

I was really looking forward to getting this phone, as I am a huge fan of nexus and google related products... however because of the size of this phone, I will likely not be able to handle it as easily as I would like.

I'll just have to wait for next years version :D

IMO, the larger the screen, the better experience for text reading and processing. On a iPhone 6 plus which is of the same size, I did a several hours of study on MOOCs and articles reading, also much less prone to typing errors. The size does matters.

Chances of single handed interactions are merely answering phone.

Odd that you so blatantly dismiss this phone due its size. Large phones are nothing new, the Note series has been around for a long time now. With its 4th iteration on the market and even Apple now entering the fray with the 6+ .. its pretty clear that there is a sizable market for large phones. So to so easily dismiss this phone seems short-sighted, and basically outs your team as uninformed, misguided or just plain ignorant. Good luck in this over-crowded digital tech review market, I suggest you save whatever ad revenue you have coming in. You're going to need it.

Any bloat added by carriers can be deleted. They don't have access to the OS partition. It's a non issue.

The iPhone 6 Plus and Nexus 6 are just about the same size. Yes, the Nexus 6 is wider & thicker but this is mitigated by the curved edges (This a better, more ergonomic design by the way). They're about the same height. So you have a 6-inch screen in basically the same footprint as the 5.5 bendy iPhone 6 and yet you say the Nexus 6 is too large?

I want a tether setup.  Phone with data plan, forward camera, SMS, and voice capabilities. The beauty of this is that the phone doesn't have to be very smart... It can be pretty lame in appearance.  Tether off of it a Nexus WiFi-only device for the smart capabilities of games, GPS, social media, and the user-facing camera.  The phone can stay small, and the tablet can be large enough to enjoy all the apps comfortably. Add a little logic so that the devices can access each others pictures, and you're pretty much done.

It is too big. 5.5 inch is the best size if you have small bezels. The s7 edge is the perfect size.

Bad review.
It's your opinion that it's to big for a phone. But I'm like a large display. AND NOO IT'S NOT A TABLET

Anybody here ever owned a Motorola G (1st generation) XT1032?

Oh wow that was the best screen size ever! Not exactly a flagship, but if I can get by with it in 2016, hell yeah I might as well stick with it.

4.5" display, with about 22mm of space above and below the screen, and about 2 mm on either side with onscreen buttons... Someone build a flagship with the same dimensions! I have the Turtle Beach case for it which is perfection and it weighs like 150g altogether so it doesn't feel like I'll drop it and it'll explode into a bejillion pieces. It also has mega loud speakers, and I like watching my YouTube videos and feeling like the person might as well be 2 metres away from my face. Can anything top the comfort of this setup? I can use it with one hand easily (though I sometimes drop it but the screen never cracks even when I throw it against the wall in a rage).

I'm getting the LG G4 this week. I will have another inch of screen (it's another 5.5" display) to fit in my hand. I hope I don't drop it face down onto concrete or marble... although to be honest that most likely isn't quite enough to crack the screen, I'd expect based on my Moto G experience. I think it'll be too big, but I reckon the big screen fad will ease down by next year because of the complaints, whilst nobody said the iPhone 4 was too small, did they?
