I was really disappointed with how the Reading Rush was run this year, even aside from the valid criticisms you brought up. If they really spent so much time planning it, I would’ve thought that the challenges would’ve been better thought out. I had a really hard time getting excited for the prompts this year, and it kind of messed up my reading groove tbh. I don’t think I’ll be participating next year unless they make an effort to use it to amplify marginalized voices. It’s okay though because I loved watching all the vlogs and I have a bunch of BIPOC and diverse reads I’m really excited for in August!!
