If I was on Noah’s PR team, I would straight up tell him

“never speak about Israel, Zionism or Palestine publicly again. In fact, never speak about politics again. Don’t ever give people a reason to think about what you said.”

Because these apologies never work out in anyone’s favor. There are very very few celebrities or content creators who make an apology video and come out of it with a BETTER reputation. They might as well never respond or acknowledge the controversy.

Whenever I hear about people supporting Israel, I just keep picturing the video of those old Israeli military veterans joyfully reminiscing about the many people they've killed and tortured. Like seriously wtf how could anyone support that?

His apology is giving all lives matter

Really ticks off every single mark of bad "apologies". Starts by saying that everyone else has misconstrued him, doesn't say what he actually did, never even apologizes, and then caps it off by trying to shame his own audience by implying that THEY'RE somehow being both racist and homophobic for calling him out.

"zionism is sexy" is like saying "nazism is sexy"

for being an actor you’d think he’d try better?

The problem is that Noah is pretty much an influencer who acts rn. His brand is to be relatable on social media to Gen Zs and Gen Alphas, he doesn't book any acting jobs compared to his co-stars. He NEEDS his young people to love him. That's where the non-Stranger Things money is for him. And the young people turned on him massively.

Being the relatable Tiktoker is an image. Noah isn't a regular guy. He's from an affluent Jewish family, became a multi-millionaire as a teen, has millions of people praising him, goes to an Ivy League AND (most importantly) is surrounded by rich white bigots. He was partying in Tel Aviv with known zionists last summer without a care in the world about people's worries. He's not your regular Gen Z liberal. His opinion of Israel matches his entourage but not his diverse fanbase. He made a post about it and thought he'd be praised as an activist and a martyr, probably hyped up by his people.

And this is why you need a diverse group of people in your life because once you burst that snobbish zionist bubble, the opinion on Israel is the opposite. Anyone who isn't a delulu Zionist knows that. Any good PR team would have told him to put his phone down months ago.

If Brett Gelman drops an apology video you know Netflix are meddling

His only good acting on the show was when he was pretending to be sick and crazy, now he's just actually being sick and crazy.

I got a tourism ad from Israel on TikTok the other day, every comment had the same response: "I thought y'all were in danger? Scared? Why are you all dancing around on beaches and inviting tourists? Aren't you at war?" Israel doesn't understand that it CAN'T have it both ways.

People used to crap on Millie Bobby brown for being just kinda overall annoying, but after Noah Schnapp’s genuine problematic behavior, it really puts into perspective how not a big deal her personality is.

How is anyone supposed to take an apology seriously with no ukelele?

Just the look in his eyes when he says he wants peace is just not believable to me. Not that he is bloodthursty but just the look in his eyes feels like there is no actual empathy behind it. Zero reflection. Just going out there and saying no you guys are wrong and dont understand me. We understand you loud and clear bud.

Not saying what he said was defensible, but saying, “this was my gut reaction, but after 100 days of genocide, I realise after the atrocities Israel has committed, I no longer believe this” is infinitely better than “you’re all wrong about what was the obvious conclusion from my actions”

How can you misconstrue liking an Islamophobic video and gleefully parading around “Zionism is sexy” stickers during a massacre in Gaza? Not to mention his statement that “you either stand with Israel or you stand with terrorism”. The video was a non-apology that addressed none of the things that got him in trouble in the first place, just generic drivel. Netflix has clearly made him do this after receiving hate online.

I don't think he understands a large part of his and stranger things' fan base is Gen Z, who actively have access to live on ground reports of whats happening in palestine 24/7 on their phones and are way more politically aware than millennials or older generations. His "zionism is sexy" stunt may not have had a lot of backlash if it was some harry potter actor doing it instead of him but he's cooked, stranger things will probably be his last work if he's not replaced, it's unlikely any production agency is hiring him after this, that would be PR suicide.

The other example I remember of a forced apology from a celebrity was after one of the beastie boys made a dumb comment, I think in the 90’s, at an awards show cheering Israeli violence against Palestinians during one of the conflicts. The comment was designed to get the crowd to cheer along with him but they boo’d. Does anyone remember this?

I tried finding a clip online but it seems to be wiped off the internet. The only video I found was a much later comment at another awards show about how we need to be more peaceful.
