Mom Accuses Sesame Place of Racist Snubbing of Black Girls

Sesame Place is facing backlash after a video shows a character appearing to snub two Black children who reached out for a hug. Park officials claim it was an innocent misunderstanding. They say the motion that Rosita can be seen making is her turning down another mother, who wanted her infant picked up, which is not permitted. Sesame Place says “the costumes sometimes make it hard to see at lower levels.” The theme park also announced they are giving extra training to their performers.

Everything has to be racism these days. It just couldn’t possibly be a misunderstanding. And how can you possibly tell a persons race in those costumes. 🤦🏽‍♀️

It’s so crazy how we will take a snippet of a video and automatically assume we know what happened despite not knowing the context or being there ourselves.

I've had to wear a costume like this and let me tell you, it's a nightmare. You can't see a thing in it. Especially not small objects or children that can't seen due to the blind spots of the mask.

Seems like the character was already saying No to someone else that we can’t see.

Me: “Can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street?”

Rosita: “No”

You can’t just accuse someone of being racist. It’s hard to see in a costume which is like that

It wasn't Racist At All! Here's What Happened:
1. The Person in the Costume was telling the other Woman No
2. It's really Hard to see in those Costumes
3. It's a Parade, the person is suppose to keep on Moving on or Else they would get hit by a Float
4. If Rosita has a Meet and Greet, then they could just go Meet her Later

I used to work at Chuck E. Cheese and it is entirely possible this was a misunderstanding. However at the end of the day I just feel bad for those little girls :(

This feels like a villain backstory, " my hero didn't say hi to me so now I hate him"

seriously they can’t even hardly see in those costumes they’re working hard to even let children even be able to experience this… super stupid that this is getting the card treatment.

Speaking from experience, it is really hard to see in those costumes. Though I have no idea what went on with this guy. I do feel bad for those poor kids.

As a mom myself you can’t take this stuff personally. Characters do this all the time when they have to go on lunch, break, clock out etc. Plus those suits I’m sure get really hot so when it’s time for them to go it’s time to go. They can’t stay and say hi to everyone. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I feel bad for the children but as a guy who used to wear those suits, it was hard to see everything and everyone around me

You can clearly see her wave no before even passing the girls and we all seen that's it's hard to see anything in that costume.

Imagine how embarrassing it would be for her if the person under the mask was black 😬.

That person was probably just suffocating inside that costume trying to pay bills 😒

Side note: Sesame Street was once banned in Mississippi because its cast was too diverse!

Imagine being so privileged in life that this is your idea or racism.
