EDIT: I forgot people on the internet need things spelled out to them sometimes, but me saying you don’t have to tell your parents isn’t me saying “hide it and never tell them”. It’s me saying don’t feel like you HAVE to cause it’s a hobby. That’s like feeling like you HAVE to tell your parents you love Fortnite or something. If you want to tell them feel free. I’ve just seen a lot of kids say “oh no how do I tell my parents” don’t if you don’t want to?

Using art you commissioned or art that was gifted to you is fine to use as a profile pic, that isn’t art theft. Tracing over a free to use base is also fine to post as long as you credit the maker of the base

I’m so sending this to my furry bff. This’ll help her a lot. We’re both 11 and she just finished sowing (yes she has a sowing machine) her head paws and tail. Yes she made it all by herself and it’s actually amazing. It looks like a real fur suit u could buy. She’s really talented.

All of this is important information for younger furs! Especially the fursuit & art theft parts. It makes me sad when kids think they need a fursuit to be a furry when they don't.

I’m a furry but I can take jokes on furries being weird. Although I don’t like people who hate us in general just because they don’t understand us. Yeah, I can admit it’s a _little_ weird, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad kind of weird.

Here is something else: don’t post bases and claim them as your own. If you DO own the base, go for it. But don’t just add things onto the base and claim it.
Also, if someone is selling adoptables, you must pay for the character. You can’t just instantly have it.

As a 15 year old furry, I can’t wait to walk in the footsteps of older furries and maybe create new ones, it’s very exciting to think I might one day go to a convention and see the future of the fandom

I think for me a lot of what really gets me and I’m 40, is both not knowing which fursona I want while seeing everyone else having their figured out, and also knowing that I got people within my friendship circle, my parents, and other people at my church, say things about Furries and feeling like not being able to say anything without ousting myself as a furry myself
