We don't live our lives a quarter-mile at a time but Lee Craft, aka The Monday Morning Racer knows more about drag racing than Mark and James combined to infinity. So this week we invited him on the talk with James about the 1995 NHRA Winternationals. The first event of every NHRA season starts with a crown jewel. EVERYONE wanted to win at Ponoma. The birthplace of drag racing will host a new super team formed by coach Joe Gibbs, as well as the best drivers in Top Fuel, Funny Car, and pro stock categories.

***SPECIAL THANKS TO Nick Pettitt FOR UPLOADING THIS RACE.***

I remember watching that version of the '95 Winternationals, and I actually remember the show the American Sports Cavalcade, that was a show that TNN co-produced with Diamond P Sports starting in early 1983, which also happened to be the 1st year of TNN. In fact 1995 was the very last year of American Sports Cavalcade.
But they did coverage of NHRA, The Copper World Classic, IMSA and SCCA Sports Car Racing, World of Outlaws Sprint Cars, Late Model Stock Car Racing, AMA Superbikes, CMC Motocross, and even Swamp Buggy racing from Naples Florida, and in fact they also did some Nascar stuff in a few episodes, their last Nascar show of any of the 3 main series was a 1991 Busch Grand National race at Martinsville.
Diamond P Sports unfortunately hasn't existed since 2000.
