It’s not often you stumble across something truly special when it comes to watchmaking, and by that, I mean discover a great watch no one else really seems to be talking about. Usually, if it’s anything worth mentioning, everything’s already been said—take the Code 11.59 from Audemars Piguet or the Odysseus from A. Lange & Söhne, for example. But in the case of the H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer Centre Seconds, however, here’s a luxury stainless steel sports watch that seems to have slipped under the radar—that just might be one of the very best.

What you get when a company focuses all its efforts on quality rather than marketing. H Moser 👌🏼

Yup, I own one of these. I was shown it in a London AD a couple of years ago -- having not known that HMC even made steel cases. Fifteen minutes after discovering its existence I left the AD with it on my wrist. "Sports watch"? Maybe. Large, rugged and possessed of decent WR it is. However, it is also beautiful -- HMC fumé dial and slim bezel (small watches pretending to be macho by sporting acres of "porthole" bezel do little for me). It has the additional advantage (not mentioned in the video) of obscurity. HMC makes only about 1, 500 units per year in total, so it is very unlikely that you'll find several in any given bar -- which I like.

Your videos are absolutely amazing. Contextual documentaries about the human condition, pivoting around watches.

Amazing production, great writing and a smooth, articulate voice. Love it.

It is indeed an amazing piece, and it works perfectly as an every day casual utilitary watch, at least for me. I own a green one and I absolutely love everything about it. People have no idea what to think about it, that makes it more confortable to wear and enjoy with out energy drain.

Your photography is perfect, as always. There is some irregularity with the smoothness of the second hand. Not something I would expect from a Moser.

It's a good day when Watchfinder releases a new video.

I think Moser is coming, in a big way. It's just class, and it's real. Even the steel ones though ... steep numbers. I almost wish they were a little more out-of-reach, which would make it easier to get them out of my head.

I wouldn't call that a "sports watch".

Even this expensive watch in this vid has a QC issue. The minute hand has a dent in the close up micro shots. Visible at 2:31- 2:43 on the bottom of the minute hand.

Calling this a "Sports Watch" simply proves the watch enthusiasts obsession with labelling a watch. Nice watch

That is a beautiful timepiece. I don't really have a use for one but I can certainly appreciate how spectacular it is.

I watched this on mute while attending a zoom meeting and it was so therapeutic

Didn’t know Flava Flav has been referencing an early esoteric horological era this whole time.

It's a dream of a daily driver watch, notably the dome glass puts it on the formal side. Specs are great, you wouldn't guess the 72h power reserve and water resistance by its low profile. Clean no date dial, nice lume and the fume match with the retro logo is madness. I have it in red.

The coolest version was by far the gold with grey dial from launch, too bad I was a watch infant then and couldn't claim it.

I agree with some previous comment, the metal finishing is not top tier, like the price. Then again, it's... "very rare". Love it.
