Place Value 1: Comparing Numbers

This session forms part of the Addition series but looks at Place Value: comparing numbers.
Children need to practise counting to 20 and matching each number to physical quantities. Children should practise counting forwards and backwards, finding 1 more/1 less, comparing numbers on a number line and sorting objects and numbers.
Vocabulary: More than, more, greater then, less, less than, fewer, equal to.
Here we learn the inequality symbols for comparing quantities and use the 'equal to' symbol =.
Practise comparing numbers using this activity sheet. Remember C is more challenging.
