P0700 – Transmission control system -malfunction

Thank you for sharing, you saved me a lot of time. Even though I’m not getting a check engine light, my ANCEL OBD2/EOBD+CAN scan tool is intermittently on occasion picking up P0700 code that allows me to clear, stays cleared for a bit, then returns after a couple weeks. No performance issues right now but have squeal sound when cold and a clicking sound when cold, dissipates after a few minutes of driving. So now I’ll have to pickup a stethoscope and start tracking down what is near failing. Being there is no error codes yet, other than P0700, I’ll have to track down a TCM scanner. Thanks again, now I know.

Very true, cheaper after market reader came up with P0700, (trans control malf.) Put a more advanced reader on it and it narrowed it down to a P0717, input speed sensor low voltage. Dont waste your money on a cheap code reader.

My transmission actually stopped shifting and is stuck in first gear, so I scanned it using a FIXD device and a p0700 came up along with a P1729 code.
At first I figured I just needed to replace the TCM but someone said I should check my trans fluid first before buying a replacement...

Would you get additional codes on dash with P0700 if it were in fact a transmission related issue? I cycle my key on and off 3 times and I get codes from car itself.

my truck (ram 1500 4.7 with a 45RFE is throwing a PO601 and PO700, i hear whining/ buzzing from the trans, and when i tried to move the truck, it’s like the trans is in limp mode, idk whether it’s the TCM or something with the valve body

Just got this on my 02 Dakota with 205k miles this is the only code it has atm, before this I had a P0303 (misfire) changed all the spark plugs, but now I got a p0700 and shitting myself cause I just bought a K&N cold air intake and got a p0700. Guess just what to expect when you buy a used Chrysler with so much mileage

I have a 2016 gmc sierra. The check engine light came on today. Went to auto parts store to get a scan. It came back with a P0700 and P0711. I looked up codes it said TCM malfunction and trans temp sensor problems. I'm I in for a bad day? 75135 Miles on the truck only had it 3 months. Any help would be appreciated.

Got this code and gas recirculation code on 5.7 hemi but I get all type of codes then they disappear and reappear I would just keep driving till something happens

Yes I have a 2011 Chevy Impala LT. I'm getting the error code p0 700 along with p0722 I believe but with the p0 700 also comes with a P at the end. What is the p stand 4

I have a 2005 Dodge Dakota that shows a P0700 01/04 and also C2521 02/04 codes. I also noticed a DTC Fault 02, Pend 02 .Could anyone help me identify what these codes mean . You would be helping me out tremendously. Thanks in advance.

P0700 code and P0731 (indicating transmission speed output sensor) which was replaced and codes cleared, yet car runs more erratic then ever. my OBD isn't potent enough to read P0700 on 99 Chrysler 300 M...
