Converting PSP Cladun X2 Characters to PC Version via screenshots.

My computer unfortunately has a bad mic port so I can't record commentary. Leave any questions in the comments and I'll try to address them. If necessary I'll upload more videos from converting this character in full (its an easy one so it shouldn't be too confusing).

The more I get into this, the more I realize that I'm in over my head. It seems complicated and I have barely scratched the surface, so I'm afraid I must give up. Much respect for you to be able to do something that I cannot. I do appreciate you helping me to understand gimp a little better and I hope you'll continue to convert character edits for the wikia. Thank you :)

What I was doing here was using the Select by Color Tool. You can set the threshold down to 0 so that it picks only the exact color across the image (you see me fixing the threshold in the Tool Options at 8:50).
Not only does the tool select everything on the enlaged sprite, it also selects the color on the palette bar at the top (which is in the same order as the palette order I set for the file).

The other thing I am doing here is matching up the hex code for the colors via the Pointer Information. Under the RGB Listing, it gives the color code. I can just hover over the color with my pointer and the Pointer Information will tell me the color I need (you'll notice me do this the first time around 11:04).

This helps me avoid switching active files so I can select the color from the Colormap quickly while still having the information of the color value readily available.

Make sure you are on the proper layer (it's easy to accidentally try to draw on the wrong layer (if you look, I actually do just that at 1:48, drawing on a hidden layer).

Handy trick - if you shift click the visibility icon on a particular layer every other layer becomes hidden. Then you can click on the layer name to make sure it's selected. This way you remove some potential confusion.

Could you explain to me in GREAT DETAIL what you were doing at 8:30 in order to identify sections with the same color? I'm stuck there.

At 1:30 how did you change the color surrounding the flesh tone on the far left? I tried to change it to black, but I can't do it for some reason.
