In today's video I start this mini series in which I am going to be making a fire side set. In this video I work on the top end of the tools forging the dragon's head and the twisted handle. In the next video I'm going to turn these into a poker, shovel and brush. I've also got a pair of tongs and a stand to make, but they'll be in videos of their own!

Hi Oscar, cheers for the tips on the round bar twist. I used a thin cutting disc for the grooves but the effect was too severe. I will be using a chisel from now on. 👍

Looks amazing. Thanks for the tip for straightening the twisted section! I have always struggled and fussed for way too long after getting a “wiggly” in a bar. I sometimes use wooden mallet but even that does some damage .

This is so great, and I appreciate that you're focusing on one part at a time. I've been doing fire pokers lately, just with a hook and a twist, and my next goal is to do a dragon's head like this! Having the parts of the project broken out will save me a lot of time when I give this a try. And as always, incredible job!

Hi Oscar, great stuff as always but i wonder why you would wait for the steel to cool down before cutting it with the anglegrinder.
I think it would hold its shape just fine even if you cut it while glowing. And the grinder doesnt mind a bit!

I always curl up the horns on my firepokers so they do not poke your hand.
