AUGUST 29, 2019: Acting Education Minister Karl Samuda this morning stressed that the non-mandatory policy of parents' contribution remains the same but still asks that parents contribute assist with these additional fees for the betterment of the education of their children. He was speaking at the Ministry of Health Annual Back-to-School Press Briefing.

We contribute last school term and the kids didn't do half the term, we still got to pay again, it makes no sense, i think if parents should pay any contribution it should be half.

Mr Samuda is failing in consistency. On the one hand he is saying that the government cannot afford to educate children, and that the parents need to contribute. And then he goes on to state that the children are being given all the education that is necessary at present. Which is it Mr Samuda? Quite clearly, credibility is lacking and you have been found wanting.
