Tips for Achieving New Years Resolutions

It’s that time of year when people make new years resolutions.
Lose weight, stop smoking, get a new job, write a symphony, whatever.
I’m going to share some ideas to help you crush your goals and make 2023 epic.

The first is to create an action plan that anticipates the times when you’re most likely to bail on your goals.
Want to eat right but 3:00 is your snack time? Plan for it by fixing your favorite snack in advance and have it ready for you when you’re at your weakest.
Want to wake up early and hit the gym but you can never seem to get out of bed in the morning? Here’s the thing. The you that goes to sleep in your bed is not the same you that wakes up in your bed. Before going to bed, you’re all fired up about waking up early, eating a healthy breakfast and putting in an hour of hard work before getting to work at 7:30am.
The you that wakes up has been drugged all night and wants to sleep in and eat a donut.
When you’’re at your best before going to bed, plan for your moment of weakness by setting up an appointment with a trainer or workout buddy. Set out some great looking sneakers and workout gear by your bed. Packing your clothes for the day in a gym bag, and plant a tasty workout shake in the fridge.
So when the morning you wakes up at 4:50am the biggest hurdles have been eliminated.
The last thing is to measure success by your effort not the result.
Want to lose 15 lbs, or write a symphony? Follow through with your plan and celebrate accomplishing the task wether you achieved your desired result or not. If you didn’t achieve your desired outcome, simply revise your plan, crush your plan, celebrate it and re-evaluate.
Success is inevitable.
So go out there and make next year the best you ever!
