Who’s Benny? If you’ve watched the Lego Movie, this is probably a question you’ve thought about. Lego introduced Benny the Spaceman back in 1984 as part of the original Space Dart ship. Interestingly this specific minifigure had a manufacturing error in the helmet that caused it to crack. That’s why his helmet is also cracked in the movie. Apparently, oxygen was meant to be leaking from his suit, which is why he seems to be a bit crazy. So now you don’t need to ask…

I have a decent collection of LEGO classic space from 1979-1985 that were either passed down from my father or were bought from trustworthy suppliers on EBay. I take very good care of them and cherish them through gentle yet enjoyable play, I make sure not to break the fragile parts and in fact I have used Tamiya thin modeling cement to fix cracks and broken components. My proudest piece of my collection is a 99.7% complete LL924 Space Transport that was handed down from my dad. I continue to grow my collection as I earn more money to spend on these wonderful toys and I always keep in mind to idea of both preserving them yet also having fun with them. Apologies for the long comment for this short video but I love the classic spacemen and Benny with all my heart.
