For anyone wondering, the symbol on their flag is the Chi Rho which is made up of the Greek X and P to form the abbreviated version of “Christ.” It is one of the earliest Christian iconographies and predates the cross to a certain extent as the main symbol for the early church. It was instituted by Emperor Constantine when he received a vision of the symbol and he declared it to be put on his military standard. The symbol is still used today by Catholics and Easter Orthodoxy. I love it for its historical significance and also because it’s on the front cover of my Saint Andrew Missal.

Cataphracts are actually op af. If you can defend until late game, defend your trade, etc. you can zerg the strongest cavalry in the game mixed with streltzy and royal cannons. Neat of bees, etc.

When I play with byzantines, I have style, I play with my favorite historical civilization and I am a God of estrategy when I win, but you are a loser when you won a guy with the worst civ in the game, it is just my pov.

Byzantine was weak to begin with then they nerfed the strongest units they had lol meanwhile the Japanese will just spam and win lets not forget they are the strongest economy in game

I played the byzantines for 3 weeks. They were already weak af and then they nerfed them for some reason???

put your mercenary house next to a trading post and you get 2 extra units. i had a game where the trading post was next to my base and had royal knights and zughe nu. the 2 best rush units in the game. i went ham with farms and 2 mh and when the opponent saw the combo surrendered in less than 10 minutes because there was no way to counter without going castle.
