Light Painting Artist Ruben Martinez creates exquisite and unique Light Painting Photography. Known for his incredible Light Painting Portraits created using Fiber Optics from Light Painting Brushes, Ruben captures the soul of his subjects. While I was in Las Vegas I went to meet Ruben at his gallery. Ruben shared the story of his Light Painting journey with me. He also told me about the way that Light Painting has transformed not only his life but the lives of the people he has created with. I was moved by his story so I asked Ruben if he would let me record him so I could share his story with our community. We both hope you find some inspiration in images and words in this video! We are all one.

It's great how this one inspires that one, and that one inspires those guys, and after a while there's a whole community with different styles and techniques who all love light painting.
I'm lovin' it.

Love how you create an idea by taking the deep dive. Fun to see the primary tool you use is just fiber optic tool, which for me is frustrating to get a pleasing image. Mad props for these gorgeous creations.

I am 45 years old and started taking college photography courses at age 17, and painting with light was one of my obsessions! Back then things were much different, and there were no professional light painting tools to speak of, and if you could find some thing that you could use in a professional photography store, you would still have to MacGyver things together in order to make it work for you. We would take color gel film, and literally tape it to an old flashlight in order to create images that resemble these, but on a more basic scale. I had a laser pointer and would use that as well. Fire is also another element I used, but that is very dangerous.

I am hoping to get my hands on your amazing looking tools ASAP, because after a long break from photography, my soul is I am fiening to get back to it!

I too am going through a wonky time in my life, and have been dealing with getting diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. I had to stop shooting photographs for a while because of my symptoms, but at this moment I am well enough that I can take on a project. I am also the type of soul who needs creativity in my life to flourish, and I know it will be healing for me!

Much Love & thank you for sharing!
