this discussion probably nails the reason behind the FBI's conduct and handling of the e-mail investigation. it was a very high stakes investigation and in constant public eye. the FBI clearly did not want to seen as going slow or dragging its feet on the feet on the investigation. Instead it wanted to be seen as trying as hard as it could to do a fair and sincere job.
