Dave Flemming is one of the most talented sports broadcasters in multiple sports, of all time, we are so lucky to have on Giants broadcasts.

Best Flemming interview I've heard. Maybe with Farhan gone, he feels he can be more real.

By all accounts, those who have been around Buster up close know he’s a competitor and a winner.
The fact he’s so focused on the fundamentals of the game and knows what talent looks like on the field as well as the stat sheets brings optimism.
There is something wrong with the minor league system failing to develop players that know how to move runners along and field ground balls.

We need a REAL SS, we need a REAL #2 starter, and SPEED in OF

No highly competitive team only has one premier offensive player. Ridiculous to even think that. They always have a minimum of 3.

That's what makes a core and that's what we need. So we have to acquire AT LEAST 2 big-time offensive players to make a difference. That's not including Eldridge but counting on him to become that third piece which is a big ask that easily may not work considering our horrible record at drafting and developing talent (we're ranked last in farm systems yet again).

Eldridge looks good but I've been through enough Felipe Crespos, Todd Lindens, Vaughn Browns, Christian Arroyos, Jaylin Davis's, and other minor league all-stars to get too excited about him. So I'll believe it when I see it in the majors and over a sustained period of at least 2 years (beating the sophomore jinks).

But firing Farhan is FANTASTIC long overdue news. We actually have hope now.

Here's what Posey should do next. Fire Melvin (won't happen this year but should). Hire Yadier Molina to manage. And Marco Scuturo as batting coach. His bat-on-ball high-contact simple approach could cut our unacceptably high SO rate down drastically.

Hire the GM of Tampa Bay and Kim Ng formerly of the Marlins. Along with Colletti and Sabean in additional advisory roles.

Then pick off top proven scouts from small market teams like the Rays, Oakland, White Sox, Detroit, etc. who each have at least several players they drafted become MLB stars.

Finally working for a big market team like SF that can keep the players they draft long term is enough itself. But if not, pay them 1.5 - 2x their salary working for their former teams. And if need be butter them up with other perks like housing, transportation, and whatever else they ask for to make it impossible to say no.

A complete overhaul of our scouting department is crucial to our success. So start with proven personnel there and elsewhere and add as needed.

Why did it take 6 years to rid Farhan?

"Magic" bullet? I think he means silver bullet. Like there isn't a silver pill.

Melvin's 2023 Padres failed at situational hitting, RISP and were the WORST at giving pitchers FREE strikes. Giants org needs to clean up a lot of crap but so does Melvin. Our vets also didn't hit/field in high leverage situations. How many FAs wonder how Melvin couldn't get a stacked Padres lineup to get the 3d WC (middling baseball)? Shildt gets credit for turning the org (Preller, players) moving in right direction

Dude in the Royals shirt has no idea what the word “averse” means. He used it improperly. Can’t stand that. Vocabulary and grammar would seem to be a necessity for someone who talks for a living wouldn’t you think? Not in the idiocracy we live in today. Just sad.
