Energy bills crisis: Boris Johnson insists ‘pipeline of cash’ is coming to help households

Boris Johnson has insisted that there is a "pipeline of cash" coming through to help households amid rising energy costs.

The prime minister said previously existing funds will be "augmented" by further measures that will be announced by the government in September.

"Most of the money will go to the eight million most vulnerable households, that's the right thing to do," Johnson said.

The prime minister added: "In the end we're also putting in the measures we need to ensure that we have the energy independence to get through this."

I have turned and unplugged every thing I can . The only thing I cannot is my gas boiler and cooker and fridge freezer . But when my freezer is empty I won't put it on again. I have started using candles to help me and my girls get used to candle light . I am so worried . I think the British tax payer pays the governments heating bills plus . That's why they have 2 homes and money in the bank.

Put simply, the bully takes our lunch each day. It started with some crisps, then it was crisps and a biscuit and then it was your entire lunch. Once in a while the bully takes pity and drops some crisps on the floor. Thing is the bully still has the rest of your lunch. Do we just sit back and take it? That is what I believe is happening with all our available income. They are squeezing it all so that people end up in debt, they own everything. Then they drip feed us whilst keeping people productive. This cannot be allowed in my opinion.

At 63 years old I can honestly say I have never seen this country in such a mess. Rising prices on everything, covid, Ukraine, strikes everywhere, nhs, schools, travel, imports and exports because of brexit. Literally every direction you look it's chaos. We said sanctions would cripple Putin, I can't see that at all, we are the ones on our knees. We are on the verge of being a failed state.

Best advice I can give is phone your supplier tell them you can only afford a certain amount a month and they have to accept it by OFGEM law. If you can only offer £150 a month they have to accept it as you are not refusing to pay.

Mmmmm.... rampant profiteering by the energy / oil corporations. Government says down to inflation, so their answer is to borrow more to give households a laughable bung, thus increasing the money supply and inflation increases again! How about hitting the big corporations and speculators massively profiteering? Just a thought.
