Always turn on the deadbolt when in your room, most hotel room doors have deadbolt, but nothing you can do when no one is in the room, so don't leave valuables in the room when no one is in the room.

If the door has a deadlock style lock with no handle, this doesn't work no matter how clever the thief is

Safety tip. Roll up a towel and place it in front of your door make sure your door is double locked and deadbolted. Crazy world we live in.

This is why you always put the swing arm over on your door in the locked position. You know, if they do open the door it's gonna stop him. Always put both locks on your door always anytime you go into the room because you just never know what may happen. I've been standing in A hotel for a year now. And never had any problems. But like I said you just never know
