Remembering The Inspirational Moments Which Held Americans Together During The COVID-19 Pandemic

HEARTBREAK AND RECOVERY IN THE WORLD AS WE'VE KNOWN IT - June 2021..."Despite the store closings, the stay-at-home orders and the abandoning of so many of our work-a-day routines in the United States, the severity of the Coronavirus Pandemic of 2020 didn't really sink in for me until the last week in March when, through various forms of media, I heard a few poignant, yet urgent voices of people dealing with this deadly disease firsthand."
That was how I began the prologue to this epilogue video recap and summary of America's response to and the results of its efforts to contain and eradicate the worst pandemic influenza outbreak in a hundred years.
As America emerges from the darkest days of the COVID-19 Pandemic and cautiously looks forward to a summer of recovery and renewal, I am compelled, once again, to share my observations about how the coronavirus has affected us all during the last 15 months - from March 2020 to June 2021. During this time millions of Americans tested positive for the virus and, up to this point, more than 600-thousand Americans have died from the disease. Millions of Americans were put out of work, schoolchildren did their best to learn from home, and so much of our lives became virtual - virtual events, virtual meetings, and yes, I even had a virtual doctor appointment during this time.
Sadly, as forewarned, many Americans lost loved ones during the past 15 months - many more will likely experience a loss in the coming days and months before the pandemic truly subsides. You will see and hear about three of my family members who did not live to see this summer of renewal. Each one is unique yet symbolic of all the loved ones who left us too soon.
History is told by the survivors. Press play and let this most recent history lesson unfold.
