This Rrtizan wetsuit review focuses on the transition between warm dry land to cold water as I document my reaction. I answer some FAQ at the end and throw in some tips on how to shop your own full-body wetsuit... just double check that it's neoprene fabric to get quality and good insulation.

What state are you in and what is the temperature outside, and the water temperature?

Hi Lesley, I also find immersion in cold water in my pool problematic and I use a wetsuit. The wetsuit will help to extend your endurance in cooler water. The thicker it is the colder the water it can be used in. Your suit is probably 2-3mm think and is OK in temperatures above 60F. Below 60F but above 50F you would need 5-6mm thickness. If you want to swim but the water's too cold for you, you can always put on neoprene socks, gloves and a hood. The head is where you lose most of your body heat. If you wear goggles or a diving mask only a small part of your face will be exposed to the water and you should be able to bear it. Enjoy the pool even if the waters cold!

Most pleasant feeling! When cold, Peeing in a wet suit that is... Unfortunately my bladder can not sustain a 90 min. dive doing that every 10 minutes.

Yes, everyone should have a wetsuit! Kids need them especially as they don't have the body mass that adults do. Wetsuits will also let them expand their swimming season and let them float easier. Wetsuits will also reduce the amount of chemical exposure in the water. I was recently poisoned by blue/green algae. My exposed skin went numb from the toxin, but everything covered by the wetsuit was fine. Boots, hoods and gloves are needed accessories. Boots should almost always be worn, and give good grip on surf/paddleboards!

Smooth leggings and diveskins will also aid in donning a wetsuit, and will aid in keeping you warmer by reducing the flushing of the warm water in the suit. They'll also prevent jellyfish stings when worn alone. Pantyhose will also work in a pinch. For swimwear, gals should wear a racing style one piece (gals get the advantage of a partial diveskin), guys should wear Speedos (baggies will wedgie). Don't go nakey, as disaster is one seam split away!

Looks like you also can swim in the winter with a wetsuit without freezing 🙂 Do you have plans when you go swimming again with your Life Jacket? 😊
