CBJ sweeping Tampa has gotta be #1. That Lightning team shares the record for most wins of all time in the regular season meanwhile Columbus barely made it into the playoffs and has never won a playoff series in history. For them to win 4 straight against a team of that caliber is downright insane. #1 for sure.

NJ Devils over Redwings in 1995 cup final should be on this list.

Ok I’m sorry but there is no possible bigger upset then Tampa’s vs Columbus end of discussion, they had a record point season and got swept by the second wildcard, there’s no other scenario that could top that

#1 is 100% Jackets over Lightning. Look at every single expert prediction for that series. Look at every single statistic. Look at both rosters. Look at franchise history. Look at previous game results between the two teams. Every category, the Lightning out matched, out paced, and out classed the Jackets. But when it mattered, the Jackets were the better team with the better coach. The Lightning couldn't keep up with the Jackets pace, attack and defense for 4 straight games when the Lightning hadn't seen that all year. It wasn't luck, it was a miracle, and a memory I'll remember for the rest of my life.

flyers - bruins 2010 and it's not even close.

flyers were trailing 3 games to none. game 4 went to overtime, if bruins scored a goal, they would sweep the series. that's how close they were. flyers managed to extend the series to game 7. bruins took a 3-0 lead in the 7th game. everybody thought that's the series right there. but the flyers managed to come back, again. won both the game and the series 4 - 3. the comeback of epic proportions.

Totally agree with the choices just wish there was a small word on how the Avs also had an upset on number 1 on the other side when the Lightning got beat by Columbus 😬

You have no sense of history. 1970 1971 Boston Bruins lead the pack. It still boggles the mind how the Canadiens could have won against that bohemouth
Of a team. Consider that the Canadiens goalie was a rookie who was making not his playoff debut, but his entire NHL debut. Time to look it up.

I'm going to watch now, but if the LA King's 2012 8th-seed upset isn't mentioned...

I mean this respectfully, but this seems like one of those lists of "put this together with something that would cause an argument so we can generate some sort of engagement on YouTube."

Leaving out Isles VS Penguins from 1993? An Isles team without Pierre Turgeon to start, facing off against a Penguins team with prime Lemieux, Kevin Stevens, Tochett, Jarg, Murphy, Francis, etc. Hell, even the first American to have 500 NHL goals in Joe Mullen. The Penguins also finished the season on a 17 game winning streak (NHL record), before ousting the NJD in 5... Oh, and, uhhh... Penguins won the Stanley Cup the two seasons prior.

The only team on this list that had any recent Cup success (or any at all at that point) was the Detroit Red Wings. Who were great. But had a few star players on that roster getting a bit long in the tooth.

I do appreciate the content, but I do argue the author of this list knows better than this, and garbage lists like this should stay at ESPN where they don't know a damn thing about hockey.
