I was working at a pizza parlor in Macon Georgia back in 2002 when I looked up from the line and it was none other than Fred Schneider. I made Fred pizza and that was most definitely the highlight of the year if not the decade.

Ricky’s guitar styling and tunings were unique. When he died of AIDS Reagan had yet to mention it as a disease. That his best friend Keith (the 2’s drummer) was able to teach himself guitar and resurrect the band and push it to even greater success is a story worth hearing.

The sheer amount of top-shelf bands that came from Athens between 1975-1985 has to rival any small town music scene's peak. B-52s are a big part of that story. I would love to see more of this interview! Howard, are you listening?
