Hey chef, I'm a server that knows how to cook. But never was really great at cooking with cream/milk. Watching your vids has helped me out incredibly. Thanks chef.

"Especially the ones doing keto. You are definitely going to want to eat this in front of them."

Wow, Chef. You've got a bit of a mean streak!

You're that kind of guy that anyone would want to be friends with. You're a mensch. From your voice pours out sincerity, love of cooking and teaching. People like you make life beautiful. God bless you and your family, my good man.

I’m so glad that you did this! Also, the CB&C actually makes perfect sense, since Irish New Yorkers got their fondness for corned beef from us New York Jews. Now that you’ve paid homage to the high-end, Yonah Schmmel style baked knishes, I’d love to see your take on the down ‘n’ dirty, street cart and ball Gabila’s style fried knishes!

LOL!! Again, I can't get over how much of a hip hop head chef John is.

Thanks for mentioning schmaltz. Reminded me of my grandfather -- he loved it and was always thin. Lived to almost 101.

Never heared of them before. I really need to try this out! What I know about this dough is, that the vinegar in it makes it possible to strech it out very thinly. Which is important, when you wanna make European "Apfelstrudel": apple strudel. Rule: through your dough you should be able to read a newspaper, if you layered that with it. And then the Apfelstrudel is baked as a whole. Greetings from the far north of Germany!

I'm so happy to find your tutorial on making these. I used to eat them when I was a child every time we went to the boardwalk in Long Beach and you could buy them everywhere. If I remember correctly, they only made two types. They were either kasha or potato and were square in shape.

A versatile recipe, the corned beef and cabbage could be replaced with so many different things, the possibilities are endless!

I grew up in Brooklyn and love knishes. These are different in shape from long ago in Brooklyn and they didn't use filling like yours, but yours look amazing and I'm certain they are delicious. Thanks for the memories.

Street food in Brooklyn with my Uncle Joe. My Aunt Jeane-Kay swearing loudly like a Bay Ridge Mom, "You guys are gonna get worms eating crap off those carts, I swear to GOD!!!"

Way of the Kosher path; I have made these with pulled pork and grits... KILLER. This is the same basic recipe/method my Gramma's neighbor Ida would use down to the hand cut. I remember helping.

I was going to wait until I finished the video to comment, "Mmm, delicious, rap snitches kinshes." But Chef John beat me too it. Absolutely amazing.
