The official Australian National Heritage list contains just over 100 locations such as Uluru, the Great Barrier Reef, Sydney Opera House ... and now Broken Hill. How did an outback mining town win such an accolade, and what does it mean?

To find out, we talked to the people behind Broken Hill’s successful campaign to become Australia’s first Heritage City - Professor Simon Molesworth, heritage consultant Liz Vines, historian Peter Black and the current City mayor, Wincen Cuy.

Pity that you didn't go into the actual history more.  Also hard to get old Broken Hill records from 100 years ago.  Need to make the historical records more available to the public for free.
