The Mop Fly Tying Tutorial

The Mop Fly has received a lot of press over the last couple of years but it's been around in the competition world for a while now. There may be no useful explanation for why it works but it does and it's worth trying in just about any river you fish. It's simple enough that you may not need a tutorial to tie it but there are a couple of tricks in this tutorial that will help it last longer and fish more effectively.

Devin, thanks for the tutorial. I have not tried out the mop yet, but am interested in doing so. What would make you choose a standard nymph hook over a jig hook for one of these?
