How to make fizzy potions!

🧪 How do you make fizzy potions? 🧪
This is a fun and safe Science|STEM experiment to try with the kids! Potions are made by combining an acid and a base. The most well known is using vinegar and baking soda to make a volcano, but all sorts of other ingredients can be used. For our experiments we used all dry powders and then we just needed to add water to start the reaction. Below are our ingredients!
ACIDS
🧪vitamin c (citric acid)
🧪cream of tartar
🧪potassium sorbate
BASES
🧪Baking soda
🧪Baking Powder

We also used Butterfly 🦋 Pea powder for a little color fun. It starts blue, but will turn pink when combined with an acid.

Our most reactive combination was actually baking soda and cream of tartar! We used a 1:1 ratio but testing different amounts of base and acid would give even more results.
