YouTube needs to give music copyright freedom seriously

I used trending songs in my video, The fact that YouTube had the audacity to take my video down when it got 1.3 K views and I’m a small content creator really I see how it is.

if my song has a Partially blocked audio and is blocked in like russia and one other country only. Will it hurt my chances when i apply to get monetized? Should I just delete it?

It was my song that contained the offending video clip of Laurel and Hardy. I apologise, Pete, for the hassle I’ve caused you but you’ve raised an important point here for all of us to learn from.

I did indeed receive an automated email from YouTube shortly after I posted it.

It said:

‘Your video might contain copyrighted content.
Copyright owners can choose to block YouTube videos that contain their content.
If this copyright claim is valid

You don’t need to take any action or delete your video.”

So I ignored it. I figured that was ok since a) I wasn’t monetising my song (and it is all my own work - no samples or anything) and b) the video clip was a screen grab from some one else’s posting on public domain YouTube and c) that it is really old

I’ve since discovered from Google that films only go out of copyright 70 years after the people that made it have died. Way out West was released 85 years ago.

I wonder if The BBC paid for the vintage dancing girls movie clip that accompanied their broadcast of Led Zeppelin’s Trampled Underfoot in the mid 1970’s.That was the effect I was after and I think it synced up well with my humble tune as well.

Bruh this happened to me, When I post some youtube videos sometimes it says “Partially Blocked” which is really annoying to see and hear but hey, My prtially blocked video was not deleted and it stays forever because it post a long months ago lol 😂

Don't use copyrighted material. That is the bullet point. If you are a music creator and you don't respect copyright law? You will if you ever have a commercially successful song and someone uses it for their gain without your permission. 🙂

I've just uploaded my first banger content (imo and trending) and then I found out that the slowed version of my used music got a copyright strike 🤮🤮🤮🤮

It took me 4 hours to edit this on my phone and I am a newbie so I think my skills were decent.

I've been uploading videos of our group's weekly basketball games (all set to 'public') using some copyrighted music, which have been partially blocked only I Russia - which works for us as we live in the UK. I honestly don't mind about monetizing as all we want it's to use YouTube to share the videos within our group, so happy for the money to go to whoever it needs to go to. Can I keep doing it or will I get into trouble - like they will take down our channel for example?

So if a video { Audio } is partially blocked { Russia } that video can't get Monetized, That really sucks bc it's getting a lot of views 😩
