StixCamp 2019
28, 29, 30 June
Castelo Rodrigo - Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo - Portugal

Throughout the world, there is an increasing number of examples showcasing how science and arts can constitute key factors for local development, namely by promoting natural and cultural heritage and identity, fostering intercultural and intergenerational dialogue, and ultimately boosting economic development.

StixCamp 2019 is an invitation for a 3-day collective reflexion on “Community Development Through Science and Arts” namely in rural, low-density territories, by bringing together researchers, artists, nature conservationists, educators, social entrepreneurs, adventure travellers and interested citizens.

By immersing into the lands of RibaCôa, hidden in the northeast border between Portugal and Spain, and between the valleys of the Côa, Douro and Águeda rivers, we want to think about the challenges and opportunities of local communities, share good practices and design collaborative strategies for local development through science and arts.
