I can relate to this regarding the doctors 🙄 took my 8 year old to 4 different doctors for a lump. One said it was a bruise, one said it was a cyst but couldn’t say for sure, and one said it was for sure a cyst but couldn’t remove it because a specialist had to do it. So finally met with a specialist and got surgery.
Hope your daughter heals quickly! ❤

Always good to remember that a pediatrician is not an orthopedic surgeon. They are also not radiologists. They do not have the training to make those types of judgments. They can only give their best guess. The only way to actually know what type of care she was going to need and what the prognosis may look like was to see that orthopedic surgeon.

I can relate. I was probably around her age or a little older when I broke my arm as a kid, went to the ER and they said it was just “out of place”/dislocated.. they yanked and pulled on my arm trying to pop it back in place, but I remember freaking out because it hurt so bad so I went somewhere different and it was confirmed I broke it.. I had not dislocated it lol.. some doctors 🙄🙄

Heyyyy I had the same cast color and length when I was about 8. They weren’t sure whether it was broken or not either. Took 2 drs and a few nurses to decide to cast me. It was dead summer, so I missed out on some swimming. But I’m glad they casted it. I’m way too clumsy and would’ve broken it further without the cast. Big tip!! If they tell you it’s waterproof, don’t believe them! The cast itself might be, but the cotton lining isn’t and will get stinky/itchy. It’s waterproof the way a phone is; you’re not screwed if it rains but shouldn’t dunk it or shower it.

I remember when my 8 year old son broke his arm two years ago. Unfortunately he needed surgery. He needed two pins put into his elbow. That were later then taken out 4 weeks later or something. It was a very anxious experience, especially because I’ve never broken anything in my life. Plus it was during Covid where the last place you wanted to be was a hospital and I was dealing with it all by myself. It ended up being over 24 hours because we went to a urgent care first to confirm the break then we were sent to a orthopedic surgeon. Then surgery a few days later. But when it was all said and done he took it like a champ! Way better then mama lol And picked out a Camo cast. Hope your little girl recovers quickly 💕🙏🏼
