I watched the interview on Jessica Chambers this morning. Listening to her talk and looking at their homes, I come to the conclusion an underground shelter is best. The underground pool was still there. The subflooring of their home was still there. The modular home next door was completely destroyed.
I have heard of people being struck by lightning while in the underground shelter. For the over all point, underground sounds more safe during a tornado. Or, in enough time, leaving the path of it. There again if you leave and the tornado changes paths and follows you. I guess its a 50/50 chance of making it.
If we were in the path of a large tornado, we run to the basement under the stair case which is up against the block wall by the ground. That is our plan. Unless we leave to my grandmothers house, hours before hand. Her house, was built for a war....
